Materials Used in Ornamental Turning - Rosewood

Ornamentally Turned Objects

Rosewood

Patagonian Rosewood

This is an excellent wood for ornamental turning.

It is not as hard as other woods (Janka hardness = 11,990 N), but it to hold shapes very well and the ornamental turning cuts show well.

Finishing

Finishing this may be necessary to bring out the beauty of the wood. Without a finish, it may look a bit dry. I use Tried & True’s Original Wood Finish.
