Materials Used in Ornamental Turning

Ornamentally Turned Objects

This is an excellent wood for ornamental turning, though I have seen little use of it in U.S.A. It is more commonly used in Europe.

Boxwood, especially European boxwood, can be a great substitute for Holly. It is a more warm color than the bright whiteness of Holly.

Ornamental Turning Notes

It is not highly available, usually only so in small sizes. It also tends to be quite costly. Due to the lack of availability, I recommend making a prototype.

Finishing this wood is usually not necessary.
